New consumer portal to rank agency performance
A new property portal will rank agents' service standards based on buyer feedback.
Usetheagents.co.uk is a free registration site for buyers, whose details will be emailed to every agent listed in their desired postcode once they register. They will also be able to stipulate their preferred call back time.
Buyers will then be invited to rank their selected agent according to their professionalism; their respect for their preferred call back time; whether they were contacted at all; and their service rating, from excellent to bad.
The site, which already features 11,500 agents across the country, will always display the top five agents, based on buyers’ scores, in real time. Buyer feedback will remain on the site for six months, eventually reducing to three.
Tony Raffermati, chairman of Surrey-based Bridges Estate Agents, is the brains behind the portal, along with an in-house team of six. He says: “It will save buyers time. There are 26 agents in Chiswick; how are they supposed to choose?"
He adds: ”I’ve been in the business for 30 years and seen all the changes happen. When I started it was a professional business; I fear the rise internet means agents’ days are numbered unless we change our ways.”
Raffermati hopes the site will also provide high ranking agents with a tool to win new business, as well as allowing agency bosses to view their top performing staff.
Listed agents will be sent a password to access the site. They must then ensure they verify the email addresses of applicants when received. The site will be rolled out in the next few weeks.
