Chancellors embarks on group review
Chancellors is in the throes of a group review that could involve a brand refresh and possible expansion.
Speaking exclusively to The Negotiator, Robert Scott-Lee, managing director of the Henley-headquartered group, insists it will not mean a name change. He says: “We’re reviewing what we’ve got in the marketplace. It’s a review of some of our branding and marketing with a view, subject to the results, of looking to make changes before the end of the year."
He insists that the business is not suffering with any shortcomings, and that the review is simply to enable the firm to optimise its strengths in sales and lettings in time for the market upturn next year and for the next five years.
He says: “As a business we’ve fared very well through the difficult times, but an independent, cash-rich business such as ourselves should have its house very much in order.”
Scott-Lee denies speculation that the review will involve redundancies, insisting that the firm is on a recruitment drive. And though he reveals that expansion is possible, he declines to comment on whether any acquisitions are imminent. He says: “With our business our size, it would be difficult not to be in discussions at any given time.”
He adds that the agency will stump up as much investment and as many external consultants as the review requires.
