One Property plans portal launch
One Property Solution is to launch its own property portal next month.
Dean Thompson, chief executive officer and co-owner of the group, claims to have shelled out a six-figure sum to build the site, called www.one-property.co.uk, which will feature stock from 2,500 agency branches when it goes live. The network's existing portal has until now been powered by Globrix.
Unlimited advertising will be available for agents providing they order one of the group's ancillary services, which include Home Information Packs, conveyancing, utilities and investment, each month. A newly-created bespoke courier and removals service will also be available.
Thompson says: “We consulted with our network and looked at how best to price the offering. We understand we need to charge, but we didn’t want members to have to put their hands in their pockets.
“We’ve committed to reinvest all profits generated from the portal to increase awareness and site traffic. Its sole purpose will be to drive sales through to agents and enhance an agents own service offering.” The site has been custom-built in-house and will feature online marketing techniques in addition to agents’ stock.
The news comes as Nielsen reveals that Zoopla.co.uk enjoyed the second highest number of visitors in November. According to the latest statistics from the research firm, 1,126,000 unique house hunters visited the site, which compares to 976,000 Primelocation visitors, 948,000 FindaProperty visitors and the 732,000 who visited Vebra.
Rightmove remains top of the table, having received a staggering 2,614,000 visitors during the month.
Alex Chesterman, founder and chief executive officer of Zoopla.co.uk says: “2009 was a year in which the portal landscape changed quite dramatically and it is certainly now much clearer to agents than it was 12 months ago where they need to have a presence in order to maximise their brand exposure and leads.”
