RICS offers agents chartered status
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors has opened its new AssocRICS qualification to agents.
It enables agents who have not gone through the RICS graduate route to qualify in sales and lettings and earn a chartered status through competency-based online assessment.
The new entry-level qualification was launched earlier this month for quantity surveyors, replacing the institute’s TechRICS qualification.
Louis Armstrong, chief executive of RICS, says: “This new entry-level qualification is an opportunity for many, who would like a career in the property sector, but have previously been denied access to a professional qualification due to a lack of academic qualifications. For the first time they will have an opportunity to work towards attaining chartered status.”
Andrews, Carter Jonas, Fine & Country, Grainger, Hamptons International and Winkworth helped launched the qualification, which is also open to practitioners working in land, property and construction.
