UK agency giants strike Zoopla deal
Countrywide, LSL Property Services and Connells Group have each pledged to advertise all their stock on Zoopla as part of a new long-term partnership with the property portal.
As part of the deal, which will see the stock of more than 2,000 high street branches uploaded onto the portal, Grenville Turner, group chief executive officer of Countrywide, Simon Embley, chief executive officer of LSL and David Livesey, chief executive officer of Connells Group, will become non-executive directors on the Zoopla board with immediate effect.
Embley says: “Zoopla.co.uk has been one of the fastest growing websites in the UK over the past two years and now accounts for a significant share of the enquiries we get from both house hunters and sellers.
“We are looking forward to working more closely with Zoopla.co.uk to make the most of the online opportunity for our businesses.”
Alex Chesterman (pictured), founder and chief executive officer of Zoopla.co.uk, says: “These partnerships will help us to better serve the needs of our website users, all of our agent members and the industry as a whole.
“We are looking forward to continuing to innovate and develop products that make us the best place for consumers to search for property and the most efficient marketing partner for estate agents.”
Zoopla.co.uk launched in 2008 and has since acquired Thinkproperty and Propertyfinder, as well as revealing a new pricing model, which offers agents a choice of either a subscription or pay-as-you-go service.
The news follows Google's entry into the UK property market.
